On Bofinger Montreal Barbeque Restaurant, Chef Deck Says:
If I was a pig, and sick of the pen, Bofinger restaurant in Montreal would be my chosen final resting place thats Bofinger not “Bowfinger” the Eddie Murphy movie. We came, we saw, we wet napped, we conquered! A good suggestion for all of you newbies to Bofinger would be to go with a group and order everything on the menu, try every different sauce, every different side and get many pitchers. Beef ribs amazing, pork ribs just as amazing if not more, pulled pork sandwich the bomb (such good topping options), macaroni and cheese even better than Stouffer’s, cucumber salad…ya. The beans quite tasty, chicken good, chicken wings…word, beef brisket quite fine, you are just the best Montreal fast food restaurant ever and you put places like Baton Rouge restaurant to shame.
Price: Everything under 10 bucks/10
Deliciousness: The best you can in Montreal get for the price range/10
Clientèle: Bring out the good ol south/10

All I gotta say is that I love Bofinger and I’m sad to read all those terrible reviews. What is wrong with people these days? I think I know my ribs. Montreal is fortunate to have a place like this.
Mmmmm….bofinger on a sunny sunday afternoon on the bench just outside the restaurant with a bunch of friends….sooo good! We all ordered different things and got to taste each others plates…well the pulled porc sandwich was amazing…so tender and with lots of flavorful spices. The huge ribes were tasty and so were the pitchers of beer we had to share. Definitly a great spot to stop on any day. Very fairly priced, i think it was about 15$ a person with food and beer. Great deal.
Overated. Disappointing all 4 times I've been there. I gave it 3 more tries to redeem itself and still wish I passed on by.
Only good thing was the price range is great, but taste, was ok, expected more but u get what u pay for.
Inconsistent, but when it's done right… I feel like I'm stealing! The prices are great, I can get a really cheap chicken meal here that beats out anything in my immediately memory. I've been to the NDG location, the DT location, and the West Island location, and I've had so-so meals at all of them. But sometimes, they surprise me. It's worth coming here for the Texas Toast, the chicken and… the cheap cheap pitchers (with wings!) they have during game season.
What's consistent? The ribs are not so great. The fries are not so great. They also hire weird people. This one girl at the West Island location forgot to charge me for my meal, and when I told her she didn't charge me she seemingly picked a random number for me to pay. So I got my chicken meal and beer for like 6 bucks. A little bit off.
i like the place… the location has seen many akitchens come and go.. glad to see something finaly took hold.. i think they pump the kitchen air directly on to sherbrook cause i ive often been hit with that chared pork n sweet bbq sauce smell while walking my doggs down the block… the ribbs, both pork and beef are great.. i do prefer the pig though… i would rather the portions a bit grander as i often feel i have not had my fill once im done,, n thats with my 3 side dishes.. id like to propose that they serve gravy with the chicken and ribbs… i have to buy it seperate and even then its just this little tiny cup that does not suffice.. . they should also get a salad bar with a little section for bbq/dipping sauces on the side so u can mix and match…. all in all, a pretty decent place id say..
First visit at BOFINGER not sure if we will be returning, food was great but not the LOUD music way to much! Imagine having to speak LOUDLY just to place your order then sit down and not hear your name, never mind talking to whomever you are with it was not possible.
I would have liked to treated my Mom but the music would kill her! Please lower the music. Not the best first impression.
Just finished a meal from Bofingers in ile perrot, omg, I haven't had a meal this bad in a long time. The chicken wasn't quite cooked, and the pork tasted as if it was just boiled. Don't even get me started on the ribs and wings!! We were hugely, hugely dissappointed!! Will contact the manager Monday, for sure.

I was unimpressed when you complained about the duck confit pasta at Griffintown having no duck in it, only to post a photo that showed huge chunks of it. Now you are giving Bowfinger a good review? Word to the wise. I am a cook in the restaurant industry. I am also from the south. Not only is Bowfinger possibly the worst restaurant I have ever been too, but it's take on “southern bbq” is so bad I find it insulting to me as a southerner, and too the pig as the noble animial it it. Chef Deck should get his palette examined by a doctor.
