On Montreal Restaurant Boustan Chef Deck says:
If any Muchentuchen joint can compare to Phantom Muchentuchen it would be the great Montreal institution Boustan (I wish to have Tasty Delight attached). Boustan is one of the greats, and has been stuffing my belly as long as I can remember. They make their chicken, shawarma, kaffta, veggie, and fallafel pitas grilled on charcoal to perfection. Chef Deck’s standing order here is an all dressed chicken pita (don’t call it shish taouk!), with omelet, spicy sauce, grilled and well done (gotta mention the fact that they are the only joint that adds coleslaw). They are a Crescent street late night hot spot, and you might even run into some stars (hockey players, Tom Selleck’s mustache, Trailer Park Boys, and once upon a time the late great Mr. Trudeau). So if your budget can’t afford l’Express and you’re not into La Banquise, try Boustan but don’t blame me if you get addicted. Boustan you warm my hart with garlic and love, so XOXO until the next drinking binge!

I saw the owner pick a kebab off the floor put it back into the styrofoam takeout container it had fallen out of. Not cool. Haven't eaten there since.
Chef Deck you've nailed it again! Boustan is a great place to eat. I can't find shawarma or fallafel like that anywhere else.
They don't' grill on charcoal

Great restaurant! The owner is very friendly and wants to make sure you have a great meal. The food is amazing and has all the Lebanese flavors. Must go!

Hi there – I am visiting Montreal next week and I will be eating at this restaurant based on your review! Looking forward to the food and will let you know how the food shapes up. Thanks for the post. Bon appetit!
Boustan is really overrated. It's no better than Amir, tbh. Not to mention, since they throw their pitas on the grill, they tend to become very dry and brittle. My friends and I actually prefer to pick our food up from the Amir location that's just down the street on De Maisonneuve. Falafal sucks just about anywhere in Montreal, so not much to be said about that. And p.s. “Chicken Shawarma” is the correct term.
