The Q, 3 pound lobster tail deliciousness, Gibby’s don’t know why you there but you do have birthday Polaroids, Saint-Sauveur rack of lamb, and the best karnatzel with mango chutney. Baton you guys are fools… it’s glorified fast food. Moishes you bore me but I do love your shish kabob and sesame tuna; Chu Chai…yet to meet you but we’ll go on a date. 2. La Maison VIP (1077 Clark, (514) 861-1943)
3. Kam Shing (6767 Côte-des-Neiges, (514) 731-1401)
4. Hot and Spicy (various locations)
5. Wok Café (1845 Ste-Catherine W., (514) 938-1882)

Oh my G-d do I have bad things to say about this one. The only worth while mention is Kam Shing. To the rest of you if your ever walking down the street and see me go to the other side of the road or I’ll drop kick you in the face. By the way VIP is one of my biggest pet peeves and everyone thinks it’s so great…. booo erns. To all Hong Phat on Côte-des-Neige is my personal favorite.

Best French

1. L’Express Review (3927 St-Denis, (514) 845-5333)
2. Le Paris (1812 Ste-Catherine W., (514) 937-4898)
3. L’Académie Review (4051 St-Denis, (514) 849-2249)
4. La Colombe (554 Duluth E., (514) 849-8844)
5. Bistro du Roi (3784 de Mentana, (514) 525-1624)

There’s so many French restaurants in this city that beat this list to a pulp with a mallet. It reads like a Plattsburghian’s guide to Montreal French restaurants. For those looking for a good French dinning experience here’s a few top picks; Christophe on Van Horne, I think is my favorite (byob), Bonapart, Pegasus (byob), Le P’tit Plateau (byob), Brunoise, La Colombe is amazing (byob), L’Entrecote St-Jean, Toque, YoYo but gone down hill a bit(byob), and so many more… Don’t worry ya’ll I’m a French food junky so we’ll have many more reviews. Oh ya Le Paris has the bomb mashed potatoes and pepper steak.

Best Greek

1. Arahova (various locations)
2. Marathon Souvlaki (various locations)
3. Souvlaki George (various locations)
4. Jardin de Panos (521 Duluth E., (514) 521-4206)
5. Casa Grecque (various locations)

I didn’t know Arahova is better than Milos but mabye they’re talking about cheaper Greek or souvlaki joints. If that’s the case go to Village Grec (great gyro), Tripoli (get grilled octopus for me), Villa du Souvlaki, Hermes, or Marvin’s. Marathon is safe bet though.

Best Indian

1. Pushap (various locations)
2. Ganges (6079 Sherbrooke W., (514) 488-8850)
3. Bombay Palace (2201 Ste-Catherine W., (514) 932-7141)
4. Star of India (various locations)
5. Bombay Mahal (1001 Jean-Talon W., (514) 273-3331)

Indian review is quite commendable and I actually agree with it. Though you guys are missing the ultra authentic Dev on Victoria.

Best Italian

1. Pizzeria Napoletana (189 Dante, (514) 276-8226)
2. Eduardo’s (404 Duluth E., (514) 843-3330)
3. Scarolies (950 St-Jean, Pointe-Claire, (514) 694-8611)
4. Casa Napoli (6728 St-Laurent, (514) 274-4351)
5. Amelio’s (201 Milton, (514) 845-8396)

Nothin’ wrong with eatin Italian on a budget but most of these restaurants I wouldn’t even bring my dog to except for Napoletana. Eduardo’s why didn’t you burn down with Lombardis, you would have done have this city a great service. All of you should go to Cafe Via Dante (homemade gnocchi), Tre Marie, Rottiserie Italian (very cheap), or Bis for an expensive treat.

A good Indian I would recommand is Maison Indian Curry corner Jean-Talon and Birnam. One of the best cheap Indian in town. For more upscale Indian restaurant try the new Mirchi in the Old Montréal near St-Paul Hotel.
  • You said it ! it's delicious.
    Thanks to you ;)
  • Thanks
  • Restaurant Opening..!! Very New and unique concept..
    Thank you
  • Yvonne
For greek, have you tried PARTHENON in Cote-des-Neiges (Van Horne I think)? It's the best. The pork is tender and tasty, not tough like the other places. Village Grecque (on Decarie in VSL and one on Jean-Talon in parc ex) is not bad but I found it quite salty and fattening. Village Grecque's gyros are the best though!
  • Hi all!
