		<description>just ate there and 4 of us were not pleased.  Food was way too heavy.   had good duck there several months ago.  lamb was terrible tonight, steak too,  also way too noisy.  not recommended.</description>

		<description>Saying it was named after another older tavern doesn&#039;t really explain the name. I mean, why was the original Liverpool house called that? Like was that original tavern named for the city? Or maybe it was named for the town in Nova Scotia, that was named for the original city.  I&#039;m basically curious if there&#039;s another source for the name &quot;Liverpool&quot; other then the city. I suppose it is possible that someone just picked it at random, so to speak, but that seems unlikely.</description>

Just as their first restaurant Joe Beef was named after a local a local tavern owner Charles McKiernan whose nickname was Joe Beef and who owner Joe Beef&#039;s Tavern in 19th century Montreal the name Liverpool House originates from another long gone Montreal tavern. As you would suspect their new lunch place McKiernan is named after Joe Beef as well.
