Magnan restaurant taverne

Chef Deck says:

O Magnan restaurant… you have the reputation of a magnum bottle of Grey Goose when in fact you remind me of a 40 oz bottle of Colt 45 (your high class in a low class sorta way). We walked into your taverne and there was an overwhelming likeness to the Super sex lunchtime buffet crowd (dark room, old men gettin drunk and harassing the waitresses). At Magnan restaurant Montreal boys order beef (roast beef that is) and girls order snails (with cheese that is). The roast beef was good but by no means the “Best in America”(as stated on your 50 ft x 75 ft billboard), the snails were good as they were masked by all the garlic butter and cheese, and the mashed potatoes were powdered (not necessarily a bad thing). Overall experience was great though thanks to a copious amount of alcohol.

Waitresses: fille du roi /10

Food: 6.7821345/10

The unfortunate fact that we only discovered the terrasse during the seventh inning butt: -1,000,000/10

Ah, Chef Dec, what were you thinking reviewing this place? next thing you know, you’ll start reviewing new dinning spots at the airport…but hey, what the hell do i know. LoL

What an overrated and overpriced joint! Riding on some kind of undeserved reputation that may once have been true but certainly no more. Our food (roast beef) was exceedingly ordinary, the service indifferent. Felt ripped off when the bill arrived ($55 for two, with two beers). Doubt I’ll be going back.

Who cares if MP’s used to eat here! The food is bland, boring and not worth stomaching….much like Canadian politics.

    Stay away!

I can do a better job in my own kitchen. The place smell the old tavern. A mix between peel pub, le pere Gedéon and kraufsman. This place will closed when the baby boomer crowd will be to old or when eating a steak will be to rough.
