On Montreal Restaurant Tiffanys Bistro and Grill Chef Deck says:

It was a late night of drinking last night and I’m not sure if I was at Tiffany’s or Baton Rouge. Someone come wake me out of this inebriated dream because I feel like the red stick has morphed into a Kosher style bourgeois IHOP. OK, enough banter because you’re all going start to think that I had a bad experience at Tiffanys Bistro and Grill, when in fact it was quite delicious. Finally there’s a breakfast joint in the city that serves corned beef hash which make my belly sing like the late Pavarotti. The Restaurant features a huge American style menu with a large breakfast selection, sandwiches, salads, burgers, pastas and steaks. I’m yet to try the meatier stuff but last week I had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was fresh and tasty. The breakfast menu is a nice change from the more traditional Montreal Restaurants. Now onto the creepy stuff….#1 they asked us if we want our toast before the meal, #2 they over serve in that sneaky, sneaky kinda way, #3 the waiters have very groomed facial hair (ie: chine straps, soul patches and line beards), and #4 of course that whole baton rouge vibe. The last thing that annoyed me was the fact that I asked for my potatoes, corned beef, and sausage to be well done which they weren’t. If you tell me you can do it then do it bitches!

I just finished a day by going to this restaurant and I must say my day ended badly. The food was poor to bad, overly expensive, and poorly served. My partner and I requested no onions and insisted that the sides have no onions. After the server insisted that there was no onions in both the Mac and Cheese as well as the black beans we were surprised to find onions in both. The fish and chips which came without chips were prices at $18 which included the the two dishes with onions. The cheapest wine, the pinot noire, was $8 a glass. If you want a new restaurant that has food from poor to mediocre at inflated prices..go to this one. As for myself, even though I did not pay for the meal I would not recommend this place.

I just went there for a family gathering and I’m surprised they’re still in business. The restaurant was more than half empty. My meal was less than stellar. I had a decent grilled chicken, topped with 3 little pieces of pineapple and overcooked shrimp. As for the sides, I had somewhat buttery to bland mashed potatoes and supposedly steamed stringy veggies which were buttery also. But the part at which I’m still confused on is that I’m pretty sure I was served Campbell’s “mmm… mmm… good” Vegetable soup to start. I would never think a restaurant could stoop to that level. Honestly, I’m not going back and not recommending them again.

The 2nd time around to Tiffany’s for breakfast was a horrible experience that will never have me going back! We were meeting my family that have a 7 months old baby and we decided to show up early in order to get a table that can accommodate a 7 month old in a car. To my surprise this restaurant has a policy of not seating down the people unless the entire party is together. I understand fully if the restaurant was full of people but when you show up and there is no line up or hardly anyone in the restaurant that is so unacceptable. So we waited patiently until my party showed up and then the hostess decided to give us attitude. So we left and went down thte street to Boccacino’s where the service and the welcoming was exceptional. It’s quite a shame that they are Greek owners and being Greek we try to support our own people. I will NEVER NEVER go back! Awful staff awful service. Let this be a lesson for everyone! AVOID Tiffany’s.

I was there yesterday at Tiffany`s and i had an amazing time. GREAT FOOD EXCELLENT SERVICE. We as the customers have to understand that every restaurant has rules and policies, we live by the rules we die by the rules. And as for this person above me that wrote this bad comment about Tiffany`s needs to get her head examine….or a GOOD ROOT. And i`ll bet my last penny on her that this person does it to every restaurant that she goes too. Get a life Anna. And this is cooming from a greek guy who is a regular at Tiffany`s. God bless you all

This message is for Anna!!!! It is unfortunate that you never gave the restaurant a chance. So much for supporting a restaurant of Greek ownership, because if you did you would not have written a review like this. It sounds like you obviously have a problem following rules lady and that you think the world revolves around you. Stop being so uptight. Life is too short!! I have been there numerous times and the staff is super friendly. I can imagine how rude you were to get them to the point where they would have to be rude back and that you embarassed yourself and your family to such an extent that you had to leave the resto. Go Tiffany’s Go….. Your food is amazing and staff is super friendly…..

Just don’t order takeout, they never get it right!
And pick up your own drinks unless you want to pay $2.70 for a cola. Cocktails are weak. Not worth the money they’re charging unless you like their restaurant decorations because that’s what your paying for!

I can’t beleive so many people here would write such bad reviews about such an overall great restaurant. I go there to eat every chance i get and have NEVER been disapointed! It is my first choice when I think of going out for breakfast. The staff is competent, friendly and efficient. The kitchen is consistent. This is an excellent restaurant, it’s only flaw is that there is sometimes a rather long wait on busy days, but it is well worth the wait!

I’d have to disagree with you on this. I was very happy with the decor and the entire feel of the place, up until I had my breakfast. I had the cornbeef hash, it was passable, but definetly far from any half decent NY diner. My girlfriend ordered an omelette which was incredibly bland. It seemed like the kitchen ran out of spice, salt, pepper, anything to season food.

I applaud the effort to make something other than a Chez Cora, but it’s pretty average in terms of quality.

Been to Tiffany’s 3 times now, and the service has been fairly good (at least no horror show), but the food is mediocre at best, and the last two times the potatoes have tasted sour.

I had breakfast here and there is nothing special about the food. The service was decent. I would return to give it another try for supper…but for breakfast, I prefer Dejeuner Cosmopolitan in the West Island.

The place came highly recommended by a few friends so my boyfriend and I gave it a shot around 1pm on a Sunday.  The place was packed and I was highly anticipating having one of their great breakfast plates.  The wait for a table was no longer than 10 minutes.  The menu is extensive, we came for breakfast but ended up ordering a cajun salmon sandwich and a fresh tuna sandwich.. horrid mistake.  When the waitress set the salmon sandwich before me I nearly gagged.  The putrid smell of fish overwhelmed me.  My salmon was cooked dry, completely inedible.  I suspect it was precooked and reheated in the microwave.  I took a look at my boyfriends tuna and immediately told him not to eat it.  I never seen fish be massacred in this way!  The tuna was grey, not a grill mark in sight, cooked all the way through and couldn’t cut through it with fork and butter knife.  The presentation of their plates is a joke, and at $18 for a sandwich, I don’t understand who calls this food.  I have never complained at a restaurant but I couldnt even bite into either sandwich without gagging.  When the waitress came around I told her the fish was inedible.  She immediately got the manager and he took our plates back (I was embarrassed to complain, not a good time)  We then opted for what was recommended, breakfast.  Not sure how a tomato confit, spinach and caramalized onion omelette can be so bland but I think the kitchen never heard of spice, salt, pepper… $41 for breakfast… I will never be back.  The only positive is how the staff handled the plate return.  I was gonna pick out the fish and suck it up, not really wanting to upset anyone, but it was just THAT bad.  Lots of money was invested in decor, and it is quite nice and comfy but they should have invested in chefs!
